Easy Barbecue Meatballs in the Slow Cooker

The slow cooker is a busy mom’s best friend! Not only does this recipe utilize the slow cooker, it also is so easy to throw together. Making this recipe for barbecue meatballs in the slow cooker a great meal to throw together before heading out in the morning. Also, they are so delicious and my children gobble them up every time!

For this meal, you only need a few ingredients – meatballs, grape jelly, barbecue sauce and apple cider vinegar. Making it an easy throw together supper or a frugal potluck main dish. I have brought these to many potlucks and I never come home with leftovers. They are always a hit! So bring these to your next potluck (hopefully we will be able to do potlucks again soon).

As I mentioned, my children love these! My second child loves them so much that he will remember exactly what we were doing the day of the last time we were eating them. And he probably couldn’t tell me what we did yesterday if I asked him. Food that we love really can trigger memories that bring us back to specific moments and places in time. That is why I feel that it is so important to have delicious family meals together. Eventually your kids will grow up. And your grown up kids will be taken back to that wonderful family time with just a sniff or a taste of their favorite meals.

Serving Suggestions for Slow Cooker Barbecue Meatballs

After you have decided to make these delicious barbecue meatballs in the slow cooker, you need to decide what you are going to serve with them. In addition to the traditional meatball side dish of rice, I like to serve these with mashed potatoes. I usually only top with green onions, and that is the extent of my extra vegetables. But if you would like more greens, serve with steamed broccoli.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 lbs Frozen Beef Meatballs (about 2 boxes)
  • 1 cup Concord Grape Jelly
  • 1 cup Barbecue Sauce
  • ¼ cup Apple Cider Vinegar

Instructions
 

  • In a small bowl mix together the grape jelly, barbecue sauce and apple cider vinegar.
  • Place the meatballs in the slow cooker and pour the sauce over top.
  • Cook on low for 4-6 hours or high for 2-3 hours.
  • Serve with rice or mashed potatoes.
