Ultimate Family Style Taco Salad with Doritos

I love family style meals where everyone can adjust their serving to their liking. If you are a parent you know what I mean. Fussy kids sometimes make for unhappy meal times. But when you have a meal where they can add what they want, you have mostly happy children! This is where family style taco salad night shines! At our table they still have to have at least one of each of the topping; such as one piece of tomato, but they can add their desired amount of the toppings they do like (Doritos and cheese).

This taco salad is an homage to the taco salad that I grew up on – minus the kidney beans (but if you like kidney beans in your salad, go ahead and add them). I had never heard of taco salad with salsa and sour cream until I met my husband and that is how he would eat it. But since eating this taco salad with Catalina dressing, he has never gone back. And I am sure that you won’t either. Enjoy this easy to prepare family style taco salad supper. And enjoy the happy faces of your children (or guests).

This also makes a great potluck salad if you add all the ingredients in one large bowl. Every last piece will be devoured.

“And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.”
